Boom ba

Boom-ba (noun)

The act of falling or jumping, typically from a vertical or crouched position to a horizontal position. Energetic boom bas include shouting (incoherently or the word boom ba) and raising both hands above your head.

If beginning from the crouching position, counting down to the boom ba is important. Counting currently is as follows: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, BOOM BA! Alternatively,  counting sometimes goes: 1, 2, fffffrrrrrreeeeeee, shiiiiiiiiiitttt!

Boom ba onto Baby D is not allowed and will land the perpetrator in a time out on the steps followed by a sincere apology. A sincere apology is described as being given directly to the Baby D with a hug, kiss, or a misinterpreted sign language apology (a gentle belly rub). An insincere apology is anything that is shouted while running or said while climbing up the steps in an attempt to escape time out.

Boom ba with food in your mouth is not allowed.
Boom ba from the couch to the floor is discouraged.
Boom ba towards an object that will not cause unconsciousness is allowed, with the hopes that an unpleasant ending to the boom ba may end the boom ba phase once and for all.

Warning: after a few boom bas any adult that attended middle and high school in the 90's may find themselves singing "Mr. Boombastic, very fantastic" constantly.
