Refined sugar = happiness

When you don't let your child have cake, and then they have cake, he smiles SO BIG!

Aunt Kathy comforts baby D

Notice the child on the far right flailing his arms as if to say:
"Woooo Hoooo!!!  Chocolate Cake!   I'm so craaaaaaaaaazy right now!"

Cousin Allison holds baby D.

To NJ

Grandma and her Dennises
(is that grammatically correct?)

4 generations of Raufers

Dennis and Aunt Carolyn

Uncle Mark usually just lets children hold his finger, but he let Dennis do some snoozing with him on this busy Saturday afternoon.

Aunt Kathy and my GP became fast friends.  Then they quickly made an alliance and turned on me. You should have seen the 6 pictures before this one...

Going back in time

The pictures are off the camera and on the internet. I'm going to post the pictures on the date they were taken, so we'll be doing some time travel.  The pictures I have that haven't been posted since mid February, so if you have some time, head back into the past with me and watch the 5 week old baby grow.

312 pictures

That is how many pictures we've taken that haven't been put on the blog.  I'm going to flood the system here in a few days.  Maybe this week.  Maybe this weekend.  Get ready for a barrel of cuteness. Like some of this:

Shiny, lotion-ed, baby

Lotioned is not a word, I know.

Developmentally, he can't actually smile yet.  He is starting to make other faces aside from this very stern, semi-frown. (or perhaps you can call that a complete frown.)

I can put stuff on his head!

Birthday party for 4

We went to a birthday party for our friends Jack, Noa, Ginny and Freya.  They turned 5, 3, & 2 (G & F are twins). There were 100+ attendees and at least 60 of them were children.

Also to note, young children don't really play together, but play independently simultaneously. And children that are able to run, will run, with no regard as to who they are tripping or tripping over. It was a madhouse.

Attison had fun tough. Dennis was the youngest attendee (and he slept the whoooooooole time).

Chainsaws in the snow

Our neighbor his having a tree cut down.  Attison and Jenny have spent most of the day watching.

Jenny is very sad.  What will happen to the squirrels?

Update: here are some more pictures.

But I don't want my pj's on!

Thank God for Community.
Together we can dress one young child.
