When Da comes home from work...

Ma drinks his coffee and A pretends to finish it up

...while keeping a close eye on the neighborhood.

We read (and re-read and re-read and re-read) books and miss our friends that the books remind us of.

And he holds the baby and soaks him in.

snuggles

This is my boys and I while they nap in my arms. Baby D is in my shirt and A is sitting on my lap (I finally can fit him on there again! bye bye belly!!) with his arm around D.

Snug as a bug

Baby D in his rock and play. He is still ready to rock and roll every night around 8:30-9, which is usually when I would get to rest after A went to bed and he would do some kicking and swimming in my belly.

No sleep for the weary.

Not much time for posting. (Or sleeping or showering or eating or sitting...) Eventually I'll add some back posts for these days. We are still taking pictures.

Right now I have both babies sleeping on me in a rocking chair. I must fight the urge to stay here so I too can get a snooze in. Being covered in a snuggle blanket with the littlest Raufers is a hard thing to bring to an end. Especially when A reaches over and rubs baby D on the back like this.

multi-tasking

Life with 2 children is all about the multi-tasking.  Unless you have awesome roommates that hold and play with babies.

Throwing them up

We have lots of unpublished pictures that I'd like to share, so I'm just throwing them up here now. No real order or important time sequence.

"Dipping toast in my yogurt which I have chosen to eat with my fingers"

This is A's new favorite thing to do.  When someone leaves the house, he stares at them until they walk out the door, then he says "bye bye!"  He'll often run to this window, climb up on his stool and say "bye bye" continually until he can't see them anymore.

And it is SOOOO FUNNY!

Dress up

Oh sometimes we play dress up with mom's clothes and read books.

Before Kitchen Flooring

Jenny the dog demonstrating the effectiveness of the dog/baby gate.

We painted the floors of the downstairs, except the kitchen because that floor was scheduled to come within a week of moving back in.  Behind Tim you can see the pot rack, pendant lights and speaker wires hanging from the ceiling. The pot rack will be above the stove top in the kitchen island.
To the left you can see the make-shift half door Tim built so that Attison doesn't go down in the basement.  The door has been ordered but will take a few weeks to come in.

Here is our temporary kitchen/laundry/bar sink set up.  There will be cabinets along the wall under the window and an 18" bar sink in the counter where the laundry sink currently is.  This area will serve as a "coffee bar."  The sink for that area is probably a little overkill, which I didn't realize until it arrived and I opened it and realized just how big an 18" sink actually is. The price was right though, so we're going to go with it.
Also, you can see Tim's cup hanging from the pot rack.

A loves to wander around the big, open layout!

Hot mittens!

Attison plays in the downstairs a few weeks ago.

This was before the switch covers and return grilles were installed.
