Travel Potty

Saturday we were exhausted, had headaches, and the boys were alternating crying and being generally sad. So we locked ourselves in Attison's room and took turns comforting the baby while Attison played with his toys and books.

He found this travel potty in the back of his closet and decided to practice sitting on it. I got out the book about learning how to use the potty and read it to him a few times.

Sitting on the potty became the theme of the day. At bedtime, Tim was going through "the routine" and A again decided to sit on the potty and read the potty book.  So Tim took off his pants and diaper and proceeded to play along.  I came up to check in and say good-night to find them in about round 6 of the potty book, with A sitting pants-less on the potty. He stood up to greet me and damn it if there wasn't pee in there!

We shouted and jumped for joy.  Attison, confused, started to cry. We gave him a sticker and tried to communicate what happened, but I think the shouting made it too far removed.

We've sat on the potty a few more times since Saturday, including today when he decided mid diaper change he wanted to take his potty and go look out the window with it. No more successes with the potty, but only one accidental pee in an inappropriate place (incidentally it was right there on the window sill, but not when these photos were taken.)

He is probably still too young for potty training, but if he wants to try, why not give it a go?
