Dog food

The following post demonstrates bad parenting.  Do not attempt to recreate.

This corner of the old laundry room was Jenny's eating quarters.

While carrying the camera around the house in an effort to take cute pictures of my kid, I found him playing in Jenny's food.  He is old enough now that usually when I say "Attison NO! Yuck!" (which isn't often, because we avoid saying no so that the severity of it is understood) he usually stops what he is doing and looks confusingly at me.  Or cries.  This time he shoved the handful of dog food in his mouth while I snapped a picture.  I thought the picture would be of him sitting next to the dog food with his hand in the bowl. Nope. Too slow.

This is the "how dare you take the dog food away and out of my mouth and attempt to hold me" face.

By no fault of her own, Jenny now eats outside.

Back to work

The time has finally come.  We're really doing it.  We're renovating our house.
With a 10 month old.  While pregnant.

We'd love to have your help.  Just get on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and drive West until you get to Pittsburgh.  Then call us and we'll put you to work.

There was a time when those sort of shenanigans would give me anxiety and I'd burst into tears. But not now.  You can hold my baby while I work, or you can work yourself.  We'd love to have you.  Hope you're ok sleeping in a make-shift kitchen/office/laundry/guest room.

So along with cute pictures of Attison, we're going to be including pictures and stories of our home renovation.  Attison's home's renovation. We're making these babies a safe, beautiful place to live.

First off, a laundry room on the 2nd floor.
The old laundry room, off of the kitchen.

The makings of a new laundry room.
We took 5 feet off the one side of the "big" bedroom in the middle of the 2nd floor.  There will be a door into the hallway to the right of that outlet next to the wall.
There will be a 2nd door, a Dutch door (that opens at the top independently from the bottom, or as a whole unit) approximately where Tim is kneeling. That closet will come out.

Jenny loves being under this bed, even when it is a challenge to maneuver herself in there.

Stop packing and play ball

Attison is getting pretty good at playing pitch and catch. Even with this ball that is bigger than he is.

So, once again, I do not really understand why, but my phone chooses to aggregate certain images into a flipbook, and then upload them to google+. So here is one that I stumbled across, which is fairly indicative of our life right now.
Katy is our last remaining roommate, and brings no small amount of joy and humor to our life.
Attison is moving like the tazmanian devil. And we are in the midst of packing our first floor into our upper floors, so that we can remodel the first floor. Our friends' son Zach came over to work for us, moving boxes, etc. a week ago, and you can see him sorting and stacking like a champ.

PS that is Attison's Dora the Explorer tunnel that his mom scored in a package deal on craigslist. He doesn't know anything about Dora, but he loves tunnels.

Quick update about beans

Attison explains why he likes playing with beans.

Talking to Jenny and the milk

Busy baby.
