Wall art

We tried really hard to get Attison to snuggle with baby Dennis when we had our newborn photos taken. He wouldn't.  He only smiled when Tim got crazy with him. So the best family photo from that shot was this crazy one.  A huge contrast to last year's photo.

Attison is more into smuggling now,  as you can see.

Pooping

Spending Saturday afternoon in our bedroom.  Attison isn't feeling well and everyone is alternating naps.  Both boys are popping in this series of photos.  I can tell by the smell and the sounds.

I'm thinking about waking up Tim with a loud noise of some kind and pretending to be asleep so he has to change them both.  The breastmilk poop diapers are easy, the guy who eats solid food is more yucky.

Unrelated... We have a Sesame Street book from the library that spells that word yucchy.

Water fountain!

Today Baby D went to his first story time.  He slept the whole way through it.

A had a good time though. He was a little shy, but when it was his turn to bang the drum to the syllables in his name, he started to come out of his shell.  Then when it was time to knock Humpty Dumpty off the wall  (a felt egg and wall on a felt board), he did it with gusto and everyone clapped.

This story time was at the Mt. Lebanon library.  We've never been there before so every toy was a new toy and we played for a few hours before heading home.

Another new adventure for today was that A used the water fountain! I had to hold his arms down or he just splashed in the water.  I also had to kind of shove his head in the fountain the first time until he figured it out.  Then he kept going back for more! They even had a stool, so he could actually reach it himself.  Maybe next time I'll teach him to push the button.  He had been getting pretty good at turning toys on and off, so I'm sure he could do it if we tried.

More singing

Tonight Tim worked late, so I was in charge of simultaneous bedtime. There is no doubt that rocking in a chair with two babies in your arms is the cutest, most wonderful thing that could happen.  But unless both children are already semi-unconscious, it isn't quite as easy as you might thing.

Imagine you are standing on a trampoline. Then someone next to you starts jumping and you must still continue to stand upright.
Add to that 2 15 lb. medicine balls that you have to hold.
...with one hand
...and two fragile, crystal, balls that you are holding with your other hand
...and then you have to read a book
...and turn the pages yourself
...and then the medicine ball pokes the crystal balls in the face
...and kicks you in the stomach.

So reading books while holding children, who are adorable, even in a rocking chair, is very, very hard.  I'm not going to even attempt to make an analogy about the effort required to get out of the chair and put big kid in the crib while not dropping little kid or waking either of them up. I'll just say it takes a serious amount of super powers.

Anyway, last night I was on the trampoline...wait, I mean, putting the boys to bed.  A wasn't very interested in books and D, well, he never really is yet. I turned off the lights and sang some lullabys while we rocked. I sang "Goodnight my Someone" and then sang "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." I stopped singing and just rocked for awhile, thinking A would doze off pretty quickly.  Instead he made his cute high-pitched grunting noise (which he does instead of talking) and signed "more."

More singing.
So of course I obliged.  After I cried for a moment.
