Where did this blog go?

Hi,

I didn't forget this is happening.  We are just busy.  This weekend we are going to Raufer family C.A.M.P. so we'll hopefully have more than 15 seconds of free time and maybe I"ll back log some posts.  In the meantime, I'll do my best to find (or just friggin buy) a new camera cord, because we have 350+ pictures on the camera that I can't get off and post onto this blog.

ATTISON IS NINE MONTHS!  I have a 9 month old.  Crazytown.
He crawls SO FAST!  He could win a race for crawling. That is if you could find something he's willing to race towards.
He stands.
He has taken a few steps with his "lawnmower guitar" as Tim calls it.
(This thing \/ ... of course it only walks with the wheels on the ground and not in his mouth... )

He waves (but usually only at Matt).
He pulls stuff out of my bedroom dresser drawers (after opening said drawers).
He must feed himself.  He is addicted to peaches and would rather dump the oatmeal on the floor to get to the peaches. (This is my fault.  He hadn't eaten any sugar until I started feeding him the peaches I canned last summer, not realizing they are preserved in sugar water.  oops).
He refuses to lay still to change his diaper while simultaneously disliking wearing a dirty diaper. (Apparently 9 months is not when you begin to understand conflicting interests.  Although it is my experience that many adults don't understand conflicting interests...)
He has learned how to un-velcro his diapers, so when not wearing pants we have to go for the buttons.
Yesterday he climbed up 4 steps at Josh's house.  4 STEPS!
He tries to eat food I put in my mouth, which results in frequent Lady & the Tramp like situations except it is gross because he is drooly and I don't want to make-out with him. Blah.
He says "Ba!" with intention, like he is trying to communicate, although he hasn't made it clear what ba is, apparently it is everything.
He knows what "more please?" and "all done?" mean and responds appropriately.
He goes to bed really easily and sleeps for hours and hours :) (when he isn't getting teeth).
Speaking of teeth- he has 3 and I think is cutting his 4th right now (therefore not currently sleeping for many hours :( eh... ).
He is taking better naps (unpredictably) and while he still cries a little when you lay him down it isn't for long.

He still likes the sink.
He still has the most beautiful dimples.
He still has a firm grasp on my heartstrings.
He still likes to eat extension cords.
He still thinks mama's milk is the best thing for every situation (when he is sad, tired, angry, bumps his head, etc.)
He still loves Jenny the dog, and every dog we see everywhere.

Breastfeeding a-what-ness month?

In case you didn't know, it is breastfeeding awareness month.

I breastfeed in public.  Not to make a statement or because I think it is "my right."  Just because sometimes my kid gets hungry, and my magical boobs make milk that he likes a lot.  It's pretty much as simple as that.  I usually wear two shirts anyway, so covering up is pretty easy, but again, I'm not really that concerned about that.  Here in 'merica, it is every woman's right...well, I don't see a need to go down this wormhole.

Here is a blog post I'd like to share - because I think this woman is hilarious and if I were to write a rant about breastfeeding awareness month it would sound a lot like this.

Caution: she swears.

My shirts are cut to high and my anatomy not appropriately sized to "go from the top," but good for her.  I also didn't instagram any pictures of me nursing, because, well, I'm still very modest.

Fighting with the Washing Machine

Attison and Jenny were in the laundry room, she barked, he got startled and fell over and hit his face on the washing machine. He has completely healed from his shiner and before we could freak out too much he stopped crying and happily played with some toys.  Attison is a tough guy.

This is really out of focus, but we had peas and Chinese food for dinner that night.
