Fall is here

Now that fall has come we are realizing the days of playing outside will end. So we are back out on the porch, this time without the swimming pool.

Ralph and Duke are working on our windows, bricking up the outsides. I left the boys on the porch to do a few dishes and came back to Attison and a dump truck full of bricks. Literally. He is so strong. I'm on the porch now. No more leaving him alone, even for a minute, on this porch.

We are having new brick sills laid instead of wood. Eventually we will replace all crappy, rotted wood sills with brick. We will have tons of extra.

In the picture you can see the back of the interior course of brick which essentially is the middle of the wall. Right below the window you can see the spray foam insulation and framing below the window. On the inside that is all covered with drywall.

We are curious to see how our heating bill adds up this year. It will be the first year with new insulation and a new heater. Also the first year we are on our own paying the bills...no roommates to split it with.
