Loooong weekend

I wrote a long post on Sunday night that I'm just now realizing didn't post.  Oops.

This weekend was rough.  We were in McConnellsburg for my 10 year class reunion, which very few people showed up to.  I'm pretty disappointed about that, but was happy that those who did come were good people and we had a fun time.  Attison was sick.  Really sick.

Both Friday and Saturday nights he woke up with a fever.  He's had a cold for a few weeks and didn't sleep well (or at all) while at Camp Soles the previous weekend, so I wasn't really that surprised.  I did call the doctor though, and while waiting for them to call back (they didn't...arrrrgh) we looked online.  Pretty much everything you read says in some way or another - if your kid's temp is less than 103 we can't do anything and we'll send you home with a big emergency room bill.  Don't bother.

I was all ready to ignore this advice and run to the Fulton County Medical Center, except that once he was awake and nursed for awhile, he started playing happily with his toys.  Friday night I just let him play until he literally laid down on the floor and passed out.  Saturday night took lots of singing, rocking and nursing, but he did sleep for a few hours.

Then Sunday night we drove home, and Attison fell asleep at 5 pm.  At 11 when I was going to go to bed myself I thought I'd carefully take him out of his car seat (that was in his bedroom) and put him in his crib. Epic fail.  He had just taken a 6 hour nap and was ready to party.  He still had a slight fever, but again played happily for a few hours before being ready for bed again.

Here is Attison crawling into and out of his old swing to play with the rhinos.  Once he noticed the flash he made that crazy face every time I tried to take a picture.

I don't know why these pictures are so small.  I give up.  I haven't slept in (what feels like) a million years and I can't fix it.  You probably can't see his crazy face because the picture is a thumbnail.

Here he is playing with this poppy lawn mower thing that I had when I was little.
